In 2004, the most recognizable Cuban cigar brand introduced an R52 diameter cigar under the Montecristo Edmundo. This was a response to the needs of aficionados demanding cigars with increasingly larger diameters. The Montecristo Edmundo is a beautiful cigar with a very round and balanced flavor. The dense smoke is rich in woody and sweeter aromas. Packaged in a practical aluminum tube, the cigar protects the cigar from moisture loss or damage during transport. Montecristo Edmundos are rolled entirely by hand (totalmente a mano) using whole tobacco leaves (tripa larga).
